Post Surging and coughing smoke?
The truck I'm driving right now has this surge in the engine that was causing the high idle to pulse but that seemed to go away after they put in the intact throttle valve. But now it still surges while driving and is very hard to bobtail across a parking lot with out the truck bucking, but after they put the valve in it seems to puff smoke out of the stacks and stalls a bit while driving. This morning the engine started like an old engine and blew raw smoke out like it was -20 out side or like the very old engines until they warmed up the cylinders. The engine shows no codes so just wondering if anyone has run into this with the series 60 engines 07 and newer with the regen on the exhaust. The truck pulls good and gets reasonable fuel economy but just has this stupid glitch.

Post Re: Surging and coughing smoke?
Well the run only lasted to Kamloops with the sick engine. Seems the wiring harness was chaffed and causing the missing and based on that the regen system was getting over loaded and it too was burned out. Seems like lot of this wrong at once but it turns out the things were getting ignored by several shops and now it seems this shop has addressed the issues. So here hoping the unit will run good after all the components are replaced.

I don't know if it is possible cross ones toes but I'm going to try. LOL
